I don't think it is about being draconian, but rather about to
support the concepts that are in line with our philosophy.

However, there are two different aims. We want to support
networks like identi.ca that they are getting more popular. 
Secondly, we want to promote ourselves as good as we can.

I myself have an identi.ca account wish automatically pushes 
everything to twitter. I guess that is a good solution that
meets both goals.
