Hello everyone! I am ubuntu-vn LoCo contact, recently we have requested the CDs pack from ShipIt program, and now the shipping company is asking me to pay 262$ for the tax on the CDs (5$ per CD * 350 CDs * 15% tax). I tried to solve it with the custom with no result. I know that Canonical can pay the money for those CDs, but with that money we can buy more than 3000 blank CDs and burn them ourselves, so I am not sure if it is worth it (also the fee for keeping the CDs in the warehouse is 5$/day, so it is already 50$ now), and aftes discussing we decided to return the CDs. I don't know how exactly though, maybe if we don't pay the tax for a while then they will return them? I have no knowledge at all about this matter, maybe someone can explain it to me?
And it is also partly my fault that the tax is so high like that, I should have contacted an organization or government agency for receiving the CDs, instead of sending it to me, that way maybe we wouldn't have to pay any tax. Or at least send to another member in another city, as the local custom is quite... well... So I am apology for this problem that my carelessness has caused, and wish to listen to advices from another LoCos (Ubuntu-vn is quite young, and so is its members). Have a nice new week! -- loco-contacts mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/loco-contacts
