Hi This was sent to our loco team but I do think that others on this list might benefit from Maia's instructions since I think she is one of the few people to host Ubuntu Hours cross cites :)
Hope this helps others. Then you add it to some websites[1][2] and or add a facebook event to the ubuntu-za group. you can also tweet it. To add events to the websites, you need a launchpad login and I think you need to be a member of the ubuntu-za team on launchpad. For the facebook group event, you can email me and I can add it, I am not sure how the admin rights work there. 2. be there at the event Then you pitch up at the venue. You don't need a laptop. I like to go to a coffee shop because then it is easy to hang around there and people can pitch up when they like. You should actually have an ubuntu logo visible somewhere and be prepared to act according to the code of conduct. Read more about it here[3] I have found that to make it a regular occurance, say once a month works well. We tend to move the venue around a bit, but see what your local community wants to do. 3. record the event Lastly take some pics, blog about it and update the monthly report so we can use it to prove that we are an active loco when the time comes for re-approval.[4] That's it, easy. Let me know if you get stuck with any of the steps.
