I realize that we don't do it to have DVD's (I don't know anyone in my LoCo who still uses disc media to install Ubuntu.) but instead the DVD's is just another tool to further the effort.
I wonder how many groups do go through the approval / reapproval process in order to keep their status of receiving DVDs and swag. If the DVDs and swag were to disappear tomorrow, would folks be so adamant about showing how active their groups are?
Perhaps the best term is one that actually shows what we're trying to measure. Sponsored or Approved don't convey a level of activity; they show a level of trust (I sponsor or approve of you because I trust you'll be good stewards of that sponsorship or approval).
If the end-goal is to show activity, wouldn't a label like "active" be more appropriate? Or something else like "alive" or "running" or one of the other synonyms for "active". Ubuntu Loco Lookouts, or something along those lines.
Heck, even "Ubuntu Loco Stewards" may better convey the underlying meaning of the whole approval process. Right now it feels like "be active, get free stuff". If that's the end-goal, then we already have the appropriate term.
