I just read the Re-Energizing LoCo Teams thread and have done some
Google searches on what might be happening and
http://loco.ubuntu.com/events/ shows zero Saucy/13.10 release events.
I live in a rural area and I would like to see something that allows me
to participate, or watch, even if an event is not within reasonable
driving distance. It would be better if I could go to Richmond,
Fredericksburg or Hampton Roads...
Would it be possible to have an event or "Release Party" that allows a
combination of online and LoCo events? How about we call it "Ubuntu
Freedom"? Perhaps it would be better to schedule this for Saturday Oct
19th following the Oct 17th release of Saucy/13.10?
We could use Google Hangouts to show a series of presentations about
Ubuntu and in between sessions talk to various LoCo's.
One of the UDS sessions talked a bit about how Windows XP is approaching
end of life April 2014, so one of the sessions should cover how we can
use Ubuntu, or Lubuntu, to extend the life of these older machines.
I am an admin and I would like to see a session, or perhaps help present
one, on DNSSEC, DANE and related protocols that can help make the
Internet a bit safer.
Chuck
PS. I am not offically a Ubuntu Community Member, at least not yet...
