Date started and date ended really is only needed for a global events, So when a team adds it's self to the global jam for example we know the start and end dates and we just need to put in local times.
Start and end time is needed for local events, so can it just show local time which I know there is a bug. -- event details includes unneeded full date and timezone https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/600161 You received this bug notification because you are a member of loco- directory-dev, which is the registrant for loco-directory. Status in LoCo Directory: Triaged Bug description: The details for an event (e.g. http://loco.ubuntu.com/events/team/163/detail/) has 2 fields, the "Date begin:" and "Date end:". Both list the full date, time and timezone that the event is happening. This it too much information for a standard user. For events that only span one day (which will be quite common I guess), you should only show the date once. e.g. a sample output would be "6:00 → 10:00, Wed, 30 Jul 2010". You don't need to show the timezone for the event. Timezones get confusing for people. For example, it's common for people to think that the UK and Ireland are on GMT all year round. Most people in a LoCo are local, so the timezones are unneeded, since most of the people attending will be in the same timezone _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~loco-directory-dev Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~loco-directory-dev More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
