Hey all, the first release is usually tough, thats right.
However we can make it - there should be some tooling how we did releases previously. Corners to know: - License must be included - 3rd party code must be known and name (NOTICE file) - we should be clear here, except we have introduced new things - we should have a src and a bin release (usually ASF vote on src, but its good practice to have both) - releases should be signed - its a good idea to have a tag for the release All committers have access to some webspace on people.apache.org where we can put up artifacts and vote on them. Please note that they should be verified after uploading, and they should be verified by other committers. When we have them here, the release manager can call out a vote running 72h. Committers need to vote, mentors and other asf people are invited to do so as well. When the vote passes with at least 3x +1, we call the same vote on incubator lists. When the vote passes here as well, we can roll out the release to the dist folder. It's not super-simple, but we can do that step-by-step.
