Did a quick search and that message is likely due to a problem with a proxy server between you and svn.apache.org. As far as I can tell at the moment the Apache SVN servers appear to be responding fine, though you may have encountered a temporary glitch.

The Subversion FAQ on proxy servers appears at http:// subversion.tigris.org/faq.html#proxy.

The quickest thing to try is to replace http: with https: which should avoid problems with the proxy server.

Hello,

I tried to checkout the curent log4cxx code from the svn repository as
described on http://logging.apache.org/site/repositories.html

I tried the following command:

svn co http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/logging/log4cxx/trunk \
logging-log4cxx

but got only an error message:

svn: REPORT request failed on '/repos/asf/!svn/vcc/default'
svn: REPORT of '/repos/asf/!svn/vcc/default': 400 Bad Request
(http://svn.apache.org)

Didn't I use the right command or is the repository at the moment
unavailable?

Best regards,

Oliver
