Looks like something went wrong with the substitution of @base_dir@ in Doxyfile.in when creating Doxyfile and @base_dir@ got resolved to an empty string. You could manually edit Doxyfile or Doxyfile.in to substitute /users/a24141/log4cxx-0.10.0 for @base_dir@ until Andreas has a chance to review the autotools build.
