Thanks all for the feedback and proposed update. i am thinking that, using the
updated class, I could filter out the unwanted message by including the
following entry in my log server properties file if desired:

log4j.category.org.apache.log4j.net=ERROR

Then I would see any unusual exceptions without seeing the info messages.
