I also would find this appender useful. I have servers running on AIX boxes and
it would be much simpler to view the logs, as they happen, through a telnet
session rather than logging into the machine and doing a tail on the log file.
It would also be easier to show a non-unix person the log rather than trying to
explain how to get into AIX and find/display the log file.
