You can write your own Appender object which can send logging events over
the network.  
For example, one thing we have implemented here is an HTTPAppender (extended
from AppenderSkeleton) which sends the Log4J LoggingEvent object over the
wire using the HTTP protocol.  And on the recieving end we have an HTTP
server running a servlet, listening for incoming messages.  Works out pretty
nicely for the most part.  There are few issues with this method but you
should be fine if you aren't doing anything complex and are just logging
simple messages.
