Richard, We are always looking for people to contribute to the development effort. There is a list of tasks for the next release, and Ceki has posted various notes about particular areas that would be interesting to explore. Personally, I think the best way to get started is to pick something that you feel needs to be done. Discuss why you think it needs to be done, how you would do it, and then do it. Contribute the patches back to this list (and test cases to go with it are a good thing). After reviewing the change, if we agree with you, the code will be included. Being an open source project, it is "open" to any contributions people think are needed. That's what makes this software useful.
You can find out how to access the current cvs code at this link: http://jakarta.apache.org/site/cvsindex.html -Mark > -----Original Message----- > From: Ricardo Moral [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Wednesday, September 11, 2002 11:11 AM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Participation in Development. > > > Hi... my name is Ricardo Moral (aka Richard) and I'm from Argentina. > > I'm writing you because I love almost everything you do in Jakarta. > I've spend a lot of time reading the code and I think its > great the way yo > work, so many people working together and developing such > great software. > > Since I have a lot of experience developing in Java (almost 4 > years) I think > (and wish) I might be of help.
