Hi Olivier,

Good to see your interest in contributing to the open source community.
A good starting point on how to get involved in Jakarta projects
(and other open source projects) can be found on the web page
http://jakarta.apache.org/site/getinvolved.html.

I would suggest that you first step on getting involved in Log4J would
be to join the mailing list.

With respect to your specific request for Chainsaw. Typically I am
responsible for incorporating changes to the Chainsaw source code.
The best approach is to send me an email out lining the changes you
are making, and either a patch for, or the modified source files.

I had a quick look at the changes you have made and can see the
general direction you are going. The general approach is something
that would be great to incorporate into Chainsaw. Obviously project
specific changes will not be accepted.

Cheers,
Oliver
