I don't know about that.  Plugins/Receivers/Watchdogs do make the
configuration process more complex and we are going to need to spend time
working out the issues.

I think people "get" the idea about watchdogs.  We'll just have to make sure
they understand that when there is nothing to watch the current logging
settings are still active.
