another good idea. It's really hard to guess what the users want. Some may want to have multiple Windows instead of 1 window with multiple docs. Maybe we could allow both, like how MS Office now does allow you to have each document have it's own taskbar item. That might be difficult to implement. >From a UI perspective I've never been too much of a fan of Tabbed panes though, but that could just be my preference (hence the MDI concept). Another UI concept that I've seen before the mimics a tabbed pane, is the use of a List or Tree (TextPad's Preference dialog is an example here). We could have a Hot key to open a Panel with a List/Tree of named panels.
