Hi Hermod,

Just in case you didn't pick it up, the mailing list server is silently
dropping binary attachments at the moment, so your classes didn't get
through.

You could post a new item in Bugzilla under Log4j and attach your zip file,
or alternatively, if you can organise a single Patch file in text format
(text file attachments named "*.txt" seem to get through), you could send
that to the mailing list.

cheers,

Paul Smith

Subject: New SyslogAppender

Hi

While going through the current SyslogAppender, I saw that it did not
comply with the RFC3164. I have made a new version, building on the old,
that does comply and that also supports the Solaris 8++ socklog messagid
convention. I would like to contribute this back to the community. The
files are attached.

regards
Hermod
