Hello all,
I just would like to remind everyone that when you base your code on someone else's code, please do not remove the existing author tag(s). If there is no author tags but the author is clearly identified, then ask the author whether an author tag should be added. You cannot just assume that the code is yours to copy!
This case is very similar with copyright notices. If there a copyright notice, removing it is illegal. (Most people are aware of this.) However, copyright law applies even if there is no visible copyright notice. You cannot simply slap your own. Doing so is just as illegal as removing an existing copyright notice.
