Hi Curt,

Although I might be wrong, log4j Configurators and commons configuration have little in common. Log4j configurators are chiefly about parsing config files with potentially complex syntax. As I understand it, commons configuration is mostly about retrieving chucks of data from various places. As such, I don't see how commons configuration might be leveraged by log4j configurators.

Would you agree?

Is there any support for configuring log4j using Jakarta commons configuration? I had a brief discussion at ApacheCON on this topic, but haven't had a chance to check the mailing list archives and bug list due to bandwidth limitations here for any previous discussions.

I'm assuming that it would require an additional configurator class which would likely use reflection to avoid a dependency of log4j on commons configuration until run-time use of the CommonsConfigurationConfiguration class. Would adding such a configurator be desirable?
