It doesn't seem like it makes much sense for intern() to be used...  I find it
does save a lot on memory, if you are reading values from a file or database and
expect the same values to appear multiple times, but this is not that use case.

In any case, the typical usage pattern is Logger.getLogger() is called once and
the returned value is kept in a static variable.

I don't see any other use of String.intern() in mainline, which is good.
