The DRFA.File option is a literal file name (not a SimpleDateFormat pattern) that log messages are initially written to and is the basis for the name to which the file is renamed when the rollover occurs. If you still have questions, please ask on log4j-user. Next time that you submit a bug, you should use a title that describes the particular problem encountered and attach any code changes as an attachment to the bug (ideally as a diff between the current code and the desired code).
