I have a service that is writing to a logfile via a FileAppender.
After logging a new line, I do not see the file size or modification date
change in my windows explorer. I have a Tail application that keeps a
connection open to the logfile and it doesn't show any changes either.
Only when I open the file itself, do you see the file size and modification
date change. Additionally, the new information also shows up in the Tail
application.
This is not a problem with XP, 2003, or Linux.
