Hello, I am working at the Institute of Computer Science of the Freie Universität Berlin, Germany. In the upcoming semester which starts in one week I will supervise the exercises accompanying the lecture "software processes". In the context of the exercises the students will have to actively participate in an open source project. The students are in their masters course (7th semester or higher) and have good java skills.
I would like the students to participate in the log4j project because it is a quite good, very useful, well-known and an active project with the right size. Since I am not so familiar with your project it would be very helpful for me if you would tell me circa 8 Bugs you would like to have it done and from which you think they are suitable for students. The process is that two or three pairs of students will independently work on the same bug, then we compare, discuss and judge the different solutions and decide which one to submit to the project. The students will actually work two to three days on the bug (and tests). Kind regards, Julia. -- Dipl. Inform.
