Ralph Goers created LOG4J2-76:
---------------------------------
Summary: RewriteAppender should not call stop() on the appenders
it references.
Key: LOG4J2-76
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LOG4J2-76
Project: Log4j 2
Issue Type: Bug
Components: Appenders
Affects Versions: 2.0-alpha2
Reporter: Ralph Goers
Fix For: 2.0-alpha3
The RewriteAppender "wraps" other Appenders. When it is stopped it is calling
the stop method on the wrapped appender. This will cause any manager associated
with the subordinate appender to have its use count decremented incorrectly
causing a Manager to be released when it should not be.
