I have been deferring to Ralph on my work for Log4j2-155 (adding layout/advertisement support for appenders), and adding a patch to Jira...which isn't technically necessary, so maybe that's a formalism that isn't helpful in this case.
Any objections to me committing the work once I have a test to validate the advertisement logic? Scott
