Could you raise a Jira ticket with a description of the problem and how you 
propose to solve it?

You can then attach code contributions to the Jira ticket, ideally in patch 
format. 

For large contributions we may ask you to file an ICLA (see 
http://www.apache.org/licenses/ halfway down the page) before merging it into 
the code base.
