No. That is just poor English on Arvind’s part. Last I spoke with him Flume was a critical component at Cloudera.
What he meant is just that they don’t know when the next release will be yet. Flume is very “interesting” in the way they do things. It is one of the reasons I’ve never actually committed code there. The process is quite a bit different than what we do. For one, everything is RTC. My understanding is that all the Hadoop related projects that have a significant Cloudera presence work that way.
