I don't follow you sorry. They have proprietary api for shutdown but then you
dont need any API since it doesnt use shutdown hook.
Big drawback of it are:
1) you need tointegrate with everybody, with all versions
2) in some container (think to tomcat) you need a specific config
2) is a regression to me
