I am somewhat familiar with Mule ESB as I used it on one of my projects, so I 
believe I understand what you are attempting to do. I do believe there is 
probably a better way to accomplish this but I don't have a ready made solution 
and my time is limited so it may be a bit before I can provide an alternative. 
That said, what you are trying to accomplish makes sense and having direct 
support for it seems appropriate to me.
