To expand on my earlier suggestions: One idea is to create a custom layout that
understands your custom messages, extracts the key-value pairs from these
custom messages, and puts them in a database like you describe.
To leverage the existing layouts you can either extend them or perhaps wrap
them and delegate the message after your custom layout is done with the
pre-processing.
