1. To be honest, I am not sure if this has been already addressed or not. Matt
implemented the shutdown registry and it seems to be working. But I am not sure
if it completely solves the issue or not.
2. Robin, Please see my update to LOG4J2-1098. I don't think the problem you
are having is related to the shutdown registry.
