Gary Gregory commented on LOG4J2-1395:
--------------------------------------

Hi,

But let's please not call it the {{FastConsoleAppender}}. If it is a Foo-based
console appender, call it the {{FooConsoleAppender}}.

We went through this a while back with the {{RandomAccessFileAppender}} which
started off as the {{FastFileAppender}}.

What happens when we find an even faster way to to do things. Or what if the
old appender is faster than the "fast" appender in some use cases? It's all
confusing IMO. Better stick to names that describe what actually happens.

> The ConsoleAppender is much slower than the FileAppender.
> It would be nice to improve the performance of the ConsoleAppender.
