Hi Scott !
Using the PROP.log4j.remoteSourceInfo will have each source appear in a
seperate tab.
I remember that not long ago in earlier versions i defined 2 socketrecievers
each one to listen on a different port.
all sources that sent log messages to that port got to appear in the same tab.
is that still possible ?
assuming i have 8 different sources and i want 4 to reach one tab and the other
4 to reach a different tab. how is that possible (and it was working like that
for me not long ago).
is there a specific configuration to allow that ?

thanks again,

Shai

I'm sure I caused this once Chainsaw started generating logging events itself.

Assuming you're using a 1.2.8 socketappender:

Go to the view menu, show application wide preferences

On the general tab, set this as the the tab identifier field's value:
PROP.log4j.remoteSourceInfo

This will route unique remoteSourceInfo entries (every unique connection) to
its own tab.

I'll see if I can get this fixed.

I'm seeing this as well. I happens with the latest update to the Webstart
version of chainsaw. Previous to that I saw separate tabs for
socketappenders coming from different remote hosts. Currently, my one
socket appender is appending to localhost, but there was still used to be a
separate tab for localhost. Now all Chainsaw logging along with my app
logging goes to the "chainsaw-log" tab.
