It is still alpha, but you could try building the current cvs and giving it a try.
Ceki, et al, I know there is no definitive deadline for v1.3, and I think it is still early, but I wonder if we should consider doing an alpha build at some point? Something to get people thinking about the changes that have been done to date.
At this point, I think 1.3alpha is too alpha even for an alpha. However, in the coming weeks as the code matures a little more, we'll release a 1.3alpha build as you suggested.
