Yoav, You're a genius! Of course! I would only use the override property when
running in standalone mode, and *not* under JBoss. My app would test for that
property, and perform it's special initialization only if it is set. I guess I
wasn't thinking clearly when I read your last response.

You can go off the same system property log4j itself uses, it doesn't
have to be a special flag.
