_WHY_ can't you use the apparently proper way of doing it, which is to use the logger name / category as the grouping param? You stated once that the parts after the first dot will be stripped off. WTF do you mean? Not, they wont. If you see this in your logfiles, it is because you have configured it to just show so and so many elements of the category name. I really feel your attitude with the above comment is weird: Several people have tried in every way, with long emails, to answer your fantastically nonspecific question with your fantastically nonspecific/nonexistent answers to questions asked.
