FYI, events received by the 'receiver' framework used by Chainsaw are actually posted to the log4j framework - which means they can be processed by appenders.
This means you could write a 'SoundAppender' that just played a sound whenever an event was appended to it, and add a filter to the SoundAppender (maybe ExpressionFilter), which would give you control over when the SoundAppender played its sound.
