You should be able to get Chainsaw to process your app's events without using a receiver by adding the chainsaw jar to your classpath and specifying a "ChainsawAppender": org.apache.log4j.chainsaw.ChainsawAppender
Chainsaw's UI will start up and will receive your app's events (haven't tested it recently, but it should work). I just checked the Chainsaw tool and I was wondering if I can use it to an existing application which is using log4j without Receiver support. If not is there any way to make it work modifing as less configuration as possible?
