Greetings from a new comer to the world of Log4j!
I know that the above issue (re UTC Time Stamps) was discussed in
Feb 2007
between Curt Arnold, Eric Kolotyluk and Kamal Ahmed and the
conclusion was
made that Log4j v1.3 was needed to use this functionality (ie time
shown in
UTC and not local time). Since in the words of the apache people
(those
"fierce warriors and skillful strategists"!), users "of log4j 1.3 are
encouraged to migrate to Log4j 1.2", I am wondering if there is any
way to
get this functionality enabled in Log4j 1.2.15 (ie the latest
version).
Thank you and have a great day,

It is available to log4j 1.2 users by using EnhancedPatternLayout in
the extras companion (http://logging.apache.org/log4j/companions/
extras). Use a pattern like
%d{}{GMT}
or
%d{HH:mm}{GMT}
