I used netstat to check if the port was in-use. Then I attempted to connect to that port via telnet (with the port number). No response. But when I start the SocketHubAppender it gets the address already in use error.
What exactly does "No response" mean?
To ensure stuff works you need a "Connection refused" response to the telnet.
