I am using version log4j version 2.5. I saw the bug/feature
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LOG4J2-649. We do use routes and
updated specifically for this reason.Applications where we lot of routes
are created, we do run out of file handles and we were forced remove the
route functionality from configuration.
I tried to do some triaging, and logged my findings in the bug
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LOG4J2-1235. It seems to be simple
bug, but I am not familiar enough with inner working of log4j to
understand all nuances and make sure it's right thing to do.
Can someone please take a look.
