Florian, This does sound like a good enhancement. Could you please create a 'New Feature' in the issue tracking system (see [0]) for this. Once you have created the issue you can attach your patch to the issue using the Attach File option from the left hand bar. When attaching your patch please select the 'Grant license to ASF for inclusion in ASF works' option otherwise we are not allowed to include it in the project.
