I know this thread is old, but I am trying to implement the remote appender and sample code, but cannot get things to work. I can see the listener on the port with NETSTAT, but my client never makes a connection. If you still have the, or have a different, complete simple example project that I can kibitz to see what I am doing wrong, that would be great.
