Simon - I'm using 1.2b8 in production (and I believe most people recommend it over 1.1 due to bug fixes that have been incorporated). It has been working fine for me (although I'm just using file appenders). I personnally would like some sort of indication as to the release plans or roadmap. There is development work going on and good support in getting questions/problems resolved, so its not a dead project.
