Thanks, that was what I had searched for!
For setting an appender, i would make something like this:
Hierarchy hier = (Hierarchy)LogManager.GetRepository();
Logger mylog = (Logger)hier.GetLogger("MyNamedLogger1");
IAppender memap = new MemoryAppender();
memap.Name = "blabla";
mylog.AddAppender(memap);
