Hi Paul, Yes, I checked. Both myself and the ASPNET users are members of Administrators group. And also yes, I created the event folder by the writing a batch file that inserts the following into the registry:
REG ADD HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog\myApp /v EventMessageFile /t REG_EXPAND_SZ /d C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\EventLogMessages.dll I of course run this before I access the application. Problem is though I'm still getting the stuff before the message. Any ideas why? After that comes the usefully information like timestamps etc i.e. as dictated by the conversionPattern tag inside te appender.
