Maybe I should have said 'PhpUnderControl' rather than CruiseControl - Yes Buildbot can do the same and much more than CruiseControl, I think your question was referring to 'can buildbot do what phpUnderControl does' - so I'll base the rest of my answer on that. I hope that doesn't invalidate the rest of this. So, lets see if we can do that then. I don't think buildbot has plugins for instance for CodeCoverage or CRAP or CodeSniffer etc, but we should investigate this, maybe all it need do is run them, or maybe they can be added in the maven poms. Buildbot does not give pretty graphs and other nice looking metrics or reports out of the box - but maybe getting buildbot to run these other tools, then the tools will provide those for us, I really I hadn't investigated. BTW those CodeSniffer warnings I think are a little bit over the top and should be tweaked a bit better for log4php needs. (but that's for later I guess.) Either way, phpUnderControl is still useful right now, its what others use and I don't see an immediate need to reinvent the wheel for our needs here. >From my own perspective it is useful for me to investigate the above so I can extend and make the ASF Buildbot instance more useful to our projects overall, and also means one less application to worry about looking after from the infra point of view.
