Hi,
You can start the background process when you whant use
it :)
if you whant log only in database, alert.log,
trace file or in dbms_output is not necessary to start the background
process.
when you whant use the log4j capability, you can start
this process.

I'm just about to start evaluating
log4plsql. The DBAs are refusing to install it unless I tell them what the
background process does and why it has to be left
running.
The script runs the
following
.
./setVariable.sh
cd
$LOG4PLSQL_HOME
echo start
listener
java
log4plsql.backgroundProcess.Run ./properties/log4plsql.xml
Does anyone either know what this
does, or know where the relevant documentation is.
