Hi,

Thank you for your message. There is indeed a bug. In our quest to
decouple configuration processing from any XML related code, the
internal dependency management between components was simplified in
1.3.0-alpha13. Apparently a bug was also introduced in the process.

I have created LOGBACK-1614 to track this issue.
