The last issue of Logica Universalis
http://www.birkhauser.ch/LU
is freely availbale on-line until February 28
featuring in particular a very interesting paper by Irving Anellis:
"Russell and his sources for non-classical logics"
Anellis is one of the few PhD students of Jean van Heijenoort,
the major historian of modern logic,
author of the book "From Frege to Gödel".

One of my objectives in founding and editing the journal Logica Universalis
was to change and improve as much as possible the publication procedures.

The journal was launched in 2007 by Birkhäuser,
leading publisher in the field of mathematics
(also leading international publisher in architecture)
member of the Springer group.

Bikhäuser is based in Basel, Switzerland and I had the opporutnity to discuss
and meet many times the responsibles of this publication house.
I have been strongly defending paper versions of scientific journals,
in particular through affordable prices for individual susbscriptions.
I think if it is very nice to have a journal in hands at home,
one can quietly discover the work of other people.

As an outcome Birkhauser has decided to promote indiviual subscriptions for
Logica Universalis and also other journals.
To lunch this challenging proposal, there is the promotion "subscribe and win"
- have a look at
http://www.birkhauser.ch/LU
The price for Logica Universalis is 36 euros for a yearly volume (two issues)
of 300 pages.
The first personal subscribers will receive a free copy of "The Physical
Tourist. A Science Guide for the Traveler"
or "Leonhard Euler. A Man to Be Reckoned With".
